Kyte (San Francisco, CA) aka Decentral.TV is an online video service that really focuses on two-way interacting. It’s a pretty neat service in a space that is seemingly becomming more and more cluttered. The Series B was lead by Telefonica and also included Nokia, DoCoMo, Swisscom, Holtzbrinck Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurveston. Total funding to date is $17.25M. What’s most interesting about the funding is who it comes from. Given the millions of users that Telefonica (320M), Nokia (39% total market share) and DoCoMo (52M) have between them, it would make sense if Kyte ended up being exposed to the mobile platforms pretty soon. They are also starting to jump on the celebrity bandwagon with a 50 Cent channel that seems to be getting lots of traffic.
The Company is lead by Daniel Graf.
